The 5th Sports Safety Symposium

Beat the Heat

After discussing about sports safety guidelines at last year`s meeting, this year, the Sports Safety Symposium will focus on exertional heat stroke.

Cool first, transport second” for athletes suffering exertional heat stroke is crucial and necessary in western countries, however, it is unfortunately not known for here in Japan.  We invite experts at research, legal issues, and clinical approach to exertional heat stroke to develop a better understanding for aiming for zero fatal accidents in heat stroke during sports.  Japan will host a Rugby World Cup in 2019 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

“Beat the Heat” is something we cannot avoid to pass on under the circumstances.

*AT will be able to earn maximum 5.5 Continuing Educational Units by attending the symposium.
